We were instructed to carry out a design for the conversion of this large agricultural building in a sensitive rural location to a residential house. We worked with Clive Miller Planning Ltd, Planning Consultants and the client who was based in New Zealand. The project was outside the scope of Class Q Legislation so the proposals were carefully considered and put forwards for approval under paragraph 55 of the NPPF.
The scheme struggled to gain the support of the planners, however the local parish council, residents and area ward councillor supported the scheme for its wider benefits to the surrounding area. Planning was granted unanimously via the SSDC Area North Committee.
